Is there anyway to quicken the download of the up coming patch. I always have this problem with the big content patches.

Yesterday, I started the downloader going before I left for work, expecting that it should be fully load by the time I get home. Since I have no problem downing loading torrents of similar size in less than an hour. But I get home and I only have 5% download, after about 12 hours got stuck in traffic for 4 hours.

I think I remember somewhere that slow download rates from the patcher could be contributed to my firewall (Free version of ZoneAlarm). But really not that tech savy enough to go around opening ports.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Under the preferences for the downloader, click 'don't throttle'.

I had the same setting in my wedding vows.

So the background downloader is not starting up for me. I even logged into wow here at work and then logged out. Nothing...

run it directly from the wow directory.

Mine is hanging out around the 3% area for some reason, and tried both throttling and not throttling.
