This may simply be related to the time of day. Many hosting companies do work in the weeeee hours and there may have been some upgrades being done. That is my first guess. I'll look into it today. Everything seems ok now.

It looks like between 00:12 and 2:06 CST there was a problem communicating with the MySQL database. This would of couse bring the whole site down as the forums, and all guild data is stored locally. I'm checking now to see if there were any updates done to the MySQL database engine or other things.

It does NOT appear that there was a hack attempt. (Although there was one two weeks ago that no one noticed and some poor kid probably lost his internet access after I finished up with him.)
