I've had no problems with Dells, I've owned and supported a number of them over the years and they are always solid machines.

I think my problem may be related to Blizzard more than Dell or Microsoft. It seems since the last patch a number of people are having connection issues with characters in Outland which is where Droog is parked. I also seemed to have logged out while in flight which is apparently also a bad thing to do when not playing for a bit. I've requested a GM unmount and move Droog to Org to see if that resolves the problem.

Yeah with XP's End of Life date being 2014 (so I read), I can't see the problem with getting xp on this laptop.

I went with vista for the pops-n-law and the interface looks clean, but the performance numbers annoy me.

By solid, do you mean coming wiht a bunch of crap you don't need and running slower than any other out of the box machine, let alone a custom one?

Yeah I try to do a cleaning of software off the machine I get. They always add a bunch of underlying programs that load on start up.

Lol then don't buy one if you don't know how to make it run properly, I'd rather spent a lot less and take some time tweaking it then paying a lot more for the same thing out of the box but I guess if you have the money to burn who cares my self I like to save.

Apparently leaving Org is a bad thing.

What are you referring to? You can accomplish everything you jsut said by the same option. Buy a shell and screen, build it yourself with good stuff you find on pricewatch.com or some other wholesale site, and have it run fast and free of garbage.

Oh, and you can now get a Xeon quad core 5320 for under $250 shipped now. stop dicking around with the dual cores.

So problem solved. Apparently WoW does not work well with Wireless N so I went out to the barn and swapped my N router with my old G router, and swapped my N adaptor with my old G adaptor and all seems good. Hopefully they come out with a fix soon and I can reupgrade.

Hmm I decided not to upgrade to the N network at this time. It also helps my cause when Undead Rogue #234982349723 goes WTF HEALZ??!?!. I just say sorry, I don't heal rogues. I don't know what that has to do with the wireless network, but I think it helps them understand.
